Dr. Carol Waites
Dr Carol Waites has a strong academic background in training, educational administration, as well as linguistics, and translation and interpreting. She helped United Nations staff improve their English writing style in report writing and everyday communications as a full-time trainer from 2001-2021 and now continues to be involved in creative as well as professional writing.
She recently published her memoir about her career and experiences in the United Nations, Geneva. Behind the Flags describes many aspects of working in the UN as well as living in Geneva and neighbouring France. She also publishes weekly writing tips for students and those interested in improving their writing skills.

She has always been passionate about helping people develop their careers, especially young people who are our future. She was the coordinator for the fund-raising efforts for the Saidia Children’s Charity in Gilgil, Kenya over the last two years in the English Teachers Association of Switzerland.

Carol speaks fluent English, French and Spanish and is a qualified proofreader and editor. She is British/Australian/Swiss and currently lives in Geneva.
She is Communications Director for the American International Women’s Club in Geneva.
