Dale Sands
Dale Sands is Principal MD of Sands Consulting Solutions LLC, providing environment, sustainability and resilience services to organisations across the globe. Dale has built up decades of experience in the development of successful growth strategies for leading national and international environmental engineering firms. Previously, Dale was the AECOM liaison to UNDRR and was elected to serve on the UN Private Sector Advisory Group as Vice Chair (2012-2015). He served as Co-Chair (2018-2019) and, in this role, worked with the Special Representative to the UN Secretary General to establish global implementation networks to further public and private collaboration for disaster risk reduction.
Dale was a contributing author to the Fourth National Climate assessment Report: Climate Change Impacts, Risks and Adaptation in the United States (2018). Most recently, Dale worked with the city of Zhuji to establish disaster risk reduction strategies and become the first Chinese city to be a Hub City for DRR in the Asia Pacific Region. Currently, Dale sits on the Extreme Events Institute (Miami Florida) Board of Directors. He holds a BS in Chemistry/Biology, MS in Environmental Health Sciences and an MBA in Management Sciences.
