Naomi Chepkemoi

Based in Nairobi, Naomi Chepkemoi is Hesed World’s Liason Officer. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree and Diploma in International Studies and Diplomacy from the University of Nairobi. Naomi brings with her significant experience in sustainable development, youth development and microfinance, as well as a deep knowledge of the youth context in Kenya and Africa more broadly. Naomi has worked with the Poverty Eradication Community Empowerment (PEACE) organisation in Kenya, spearheading initiatives to enhance educational infrastructure in Kitui County, as well as supporting fundraising efforts for a borehole project in the region, badly affected by water scarcity and climate change. Her work with PEACE has also developed a strong understanding of frameworks such as the SDGs, notably Four (Quality Education) and Six (Clean Water and Sanitation).

Naomi is also a youth advocate in Kenya, developing concepts for empowerment initiatives centred around education, entrepreneurship and mentorship. She advocates for youth voices to be included in policymaking and development strategies on a national and county level. She has also gained valuable insight into the power of microfinance within the African context and the way in which entrepreneurship can enhance the standard of living and end cycles of poverty.
