Dr. Rick Astray-Caneda III
In his current role, Dr Rick Astray-Caneda III is the Principal at Resilient Capacity Advisors. Rick brings with him over a decade of experience leading program, operating model and IT design with frontline Social Service workers. His work has focused on driving equitable and resilient societies through collaborative methods and Design Thinking skills.
Previously, he has worked with the UNDRR ARISE private-sector partnership for disaster resilient societies, where he worked to define strategy, document global resilience projects and build partner ships. For five years, Rick has been President of the Friends of David Powell Clinic, a non-profit focused on health system capacity building projects and funding the needs of lthose living with HIV and AIDs. Rick holds a PhD in Philosophy from Florida International University, focused on social vulnerability and resilience in the context of natural hazards.
