Ye Minn Thein

Ye Minn Thein is currently an Executive-in-Residence at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy. He is a former career diplomat with decades of experience in multinational negotiations, consultations and national implementations of UN conventions on human rights, disarmament and transnational organized crimes. Previously, Ye Minn served as the Minister Counsellor of the Permanent Mission of Myanmar to the UN in New York, a role he left following the military coup in Myanmar in 2021. He also worked with global experts in the First (Disarmament and International Security) and Third (Social Humanitarian and Culture) Committees of the UN General Assembly.

Previously, Ye Minn held the role of Vice-President at Frontiir Co. Ltd, an internet and ICT company where he oversaw HR management and external relations for the company. He holds a BA in International Relations and an MA in Public Management from the National University of Singapore. He was also a fellow at Harvard University.
