Ye Minn Thein
Former Minister Counsellor of Myanmar to the United Nations in New York as an Expert in First and Third Committee of UNGA.
Ye Minn Thein is a former career diplomat with many years of international experience in multilateral negotiations, consultations and national implementations of UN conventions on Human Rights, Disarmament, and Transnational Organized Crimes including Combating Terrorism. During his time as the Minister Counsellor of the Permanent Mission of Myanmar to the United Nations in New York, he worked together with the global experts in First and Third Committees of the UNGA: All issues relating to Disarmament and International Security; Social, Humanitarian and Culture , Human Rights, respectively.

He also served as a member of the Finance Committee of the International Seabed Authority, Kingston, for budget reviews, effective use of resources as well as the growth, recommendations on financial rules and regulations of the ISA which is mandated by UNCLOS to organize, regulate and control all mineral-related activities in the international seabed area.

Prior to joining GSCP as an Executive-in-Residence (GFI), Ye Minn was a Vice President of Frontiir Co. Ltd., Myanmar, an Internet Services and ICT company, where he supervised human resource management, overseeing 3000 employees, as well as strategic and corporate operations, external relations for the company.

Over the course of time attached to GCSP, he has acquired certified knowledge in Cyber Security in the context of International Security; Transformative Technologies and Global Security; Strategic Foresight for Peace and security; Organized Crime and Security - designing better responses; Climate Security; Health Security; Crisis management and Leading and influencing with Impact; Building arms control capacities in Middle East and North Africa, among other subjects, while building networks and making friends.

His passion is to fight Transnational Organized Crimes understanding and using new digital technologies, supporting peace and development, creating markets and political space for young people.
​
Ye Minn holds a Master’s in Public Management from the National University of Singapore, and was a fellow at the Harvard University, also has a BA in International Relations.
