Brigitte Leoni
Brigitte Leoni is a journalist and communications expert with decades of experience working with international media outlets and international organisations. Since 2021, Brigitte has led Parva Productions, a documentary production company she founded after 17 years with the UN. Her first film, ‘Norma’, was completed in 2024 and told the story of a Mexican mother fighting for justice. Prior to joining the UN in 2004, Brigitte worked as a French and International journalist for media outlets in the UK (BBC), France, Brazil and Mexico.

At the UN, she held a number of communication posts at the UNDRR in Geneva and Bangkok. During this time, she was responsible for communications associated with several international UN conferences, as well as advocacy work for numerous campaigns and International Days for Disaster Risk Reduction. Notably, Brigitte led the establishment of a unique partnership between UNDRR and five global broadcasting units to train journalists and promote disaster risk reduction. She also created ‘Diraj’, an African journalist network on disaster risk reduction. Brigitte holds an MA in applied Foreign languages and a Post-Graduate Diploma and Management and Business Administration.
