Supports Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology 2025 Debate & Public Speaking Tournament
The 2025 JKUAT Debate and Public Speaking Tournament brought together some of the brightest young minds from universities across Kenya for two days of vibrant intellectual exchange at JKUAT Main Campus in Juja on November 1–2, 2025. Now in its third edition, the tournament has grown into one of the most respected student-led platforms for debating, public speaking, and collaborative problem-solving.
This year's theme, "Technology and Geopolitics," invited students to explore how emerging technologies, from artificial intelligence to cybersecurity and digital diplomacy, are reshaping global power dynamics. The discussions highlighted the urgent need for African youth to understand, engage with, and shape these evolving technologies as key actors in the continent's future.
Why Hesed World Joined This Mission
At Hesed World, we believe that ideas shape leaders, and leaders shape nations. Our partnership with JKUAT reflects our commitment to:
Empowering young changemakers to think boldly and speak with purpose
Fostering mentorship and intergenerational knowledge exchange
Nurturing skills in communication, leadership, and critical reasoning
Supporting youth spaces where innovation, dialogue, and action can flourish

A Platform for Bold Ideas and Confident Voices
Across multiple rounds of British Parliamentary debates and public speaking sessions, participants tackled topics ranging from digital sovereignty and AI governance to cyberwarfare and the role of African states in a rapidly shifting geopolitical landscape.
Students demonstrated exceptional depth, creativity, and conviction, traits essential for the next generation of African leaders.
One participant shared: "This tournament didn't just improve my debating; it expanded my worldview."
Another reflected: "I now see technology not just as a tool, but as a global force that shapes identity, politics, and security."

Beyond Partnership: A Commitment to Impact
Our engagement at JKUAT extended beyond sponsorship. It embodied our belief that youth must not only participate in conversations about the future, they must lead them. Through open conversations, mentorship moments, and interactive sessions, we connected with students who expressed deep interest in global security, development, governance, technology, and policy. Many are now exploring pathways to join Hesed World's mentorship, leadership, and impact programs.
This partnership reinforced one truth: When young voices are amplified, entire communities grow stronger.
Looking Forward
Hesed World is committed to expanding collaborations with universities across Africa, supporting more debate platforms, leadership forums, and youth-centered initiatives.
The JKUAT Debate & Public Speaking Tournament was not just an event. It was a powerful reminder of the brilliance within Africa's youth and the responsibility we have to invest in it.
We celebrate the students, organizers, and partners who made this impactful collaboration possible. Together, we continue building a future shaped by informed, confident, and visionary young leaders.
