Hesed World launches an online Fireside Chat series to engage young people in meaningful conversations about careers and entrepreneurship.
Deborah Chelangat talks to Hesed World about her career goals.
The Hesed World Fireside Chat Series on Youth Empowerment brings together young professionals, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders for powerful discussions on career growth and entrepreneurship.
The first event, held February 12, focused on Nigeria, followed soon after by Kenya, on March 13 — with each chat customized to address the unique employment conditions of each country.
"Our goal with the Fireside Chats is to listen, learn, and engage," said Hesed World Founder and CEO Kiki Lawal. "We want to be the bridge between ambition and opportunity because we know that with the right mentors, support and resources, these young people can have the promising futures they want and deserve."
Key speakers at our initial two events included distinguished members of the diplomatic, academic, development and media communities, including: Ambassador Yvette Stevens, Dale Sands, Abiola Orojo, Dr. Oluwatobiloba Moody, Meyanbe Temitope, Professor Patrick Maluki, Ye Minn Thein, David Owino, Muthoni Njogu and Naomi Chepkemoi.
Hesed World is set to expand its fireside chat series with its next discussion focused on Malawi.
"We're starting on an important journey, first for our work in Africa and then elsewhere in the world," said Lawal. "This is where we gain the feedback that will shape our programmatic approach to lifting up a generation of bright talent."
